Tyler Lloyd

Tyler is an Environmental Protection Specialist at the US Environmental Protection Agency. In this role, Tyler works with his team to face pressing environmental issues: protecting the nation’s health and environment from risks presented. He wears many hats including chemical expert, public policy specialist, and more.

Once Tyler joined the team, he quickly understood and took on complicated rules, finalized one rule within his first six months, and is on track to publish several more rules. In addition to creating rules, Tyler has the ability to understand numerous bureaucratic requirements surrounding chemical risk management and has become an agency expert on existing chemical Significant New Use Rules.

More than 60,000 chemicals were grandfathered in as existing chemicals when the Toxic Substance Control Act was passed in 1976. Tyler hopes to streamline the process of existing chemical Significant New Use Rules and create greater efficiency in the rule writing process.
