Enrique Martinez is a public sector innovation leader committed to transforming government through design education. As a Human Innovation Fellow and Director of Design Education with The Lab at OPM, U.S. Office of Personnel Management, he brings a strategic design perspective and years of people-centered creative expertise to the U.S. Federal Government. During his tenure with The Lab at OPM, Enrique has been working closely with federal agencies, departments, teams, and individuals to develop the essential elements and principles of a new design curriculum and learning paradigm for government that will deliver high value to the American people.
Previously, Enrique was a faculty member at the Rhode Island School of Design, a visiting lecturer at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, and a prolific international speaker on a variety of design and innovation topics. Additionally, he was the founder and director of Muchieast LLC, a strategic consultancy committed to bringing people-centered practices to systemic spaces such as healthcare, education, government, and cities. Operating internationally, his work with Muchieast LLC has helped address the needs of clients such as the U.S. Department of State, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Johns Hopkins University, the Maryland Institute College of Art, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and the City of Providence, among others.
