Wow! That’s all we can say.

You all rock. we had an amazing two days of learning with all 600+ of you. From keynotes to breakout sessions, the common theme was that change in government is needed, but requires perseverance — and, if we stick together, we can do it.

As Dave said at the beginning and end of NextGen, we owe it to our organizations to be better after our two days of training.  So this isn’t the end, but the beginning of each of us getting better and better each day.

So how do we continue this journey?

1) Commit! Let¹s turn ideas into action.  What one thing are you going to do different as a result of NextGen? Make a commitment to yourself and set a personal timeline for change. Share your commitment here.

2) Share! Write a one page memo of lessons learned.  Share examples of sessions with your colleagues. If you’re brave, share it with your supervisor! We all work in teams. To make change, we need to learn together and share the knowledge we learn.

3) Review. To help you remember the sessions, we’ve rolled out all the collected recaps from NextGen HERE (and also check out the photosHERE).

More to Come: Over the next two weeks, we will continue to compile Summit materials, expect to receive:

  • Session slides; some can be found here, more to come!
  • Videos from keynotes
  • Your professional photo (if you took one)
  • Information about the GovLoop and YGL programs you signed up for
  • Official certificate from the Graduate School, until then download your proof of attendance here.

Again, we want to thank you for embarking on this journey with your colleagues. We know what it’s like to be in government and feel encouraged by the knowledge and expertise of peers who really care about making a difference through a career in government.

We’re here to help you every step of that journey.

P.S. Thanks again to our Summit Sponsors for all their support; Aetna, GEICO, GovDelivery, The Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Ideascale, Kaiser Permanente, and Webster University.

Sincere regards,

Steve Ressler, President, GovLoop

Dave Uejio, President, Young Government Leaders
